what a day

Today is a blah day! Not feeling craftie in the least! I did put this togther of my lil rotten Mickey! Maybe a Christmas card idea, maybe not...

So if you are feeling this way look what you can do! Put some color in your day! So there is no real use for this AT ALL :) but it's fun and the color is awesome! Go to the site, pick a color, then the site selects all the pictures from that color! Plus it lets you select more than one color! I personally think it will help brighten your day, if your day wasn't so bright! It's pretty cool!

Yay! My etsy PomPom order came in over the weekend! These are going on the hexagon pillow that I've been working on! I was debating on buying these PomPoms for a bit, and finally I got them! They are perfect for the pillows!
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and Monday!

Good start to the holiday!

This Saturday, Jax, Kathie, and I gathered up all 28 quilts the quilting ladies put together. We drove toward downtown keeping our eyes peeled for the Metropolitan Ministries tent. We found it! I was so impressed with the operation they had going on! It was amazing! You drive in the tent stop, 3 volunteers come out to help you, and they take all the items. The down side to the operation was that it was very impersonal. Kathie did give the volunteers a letter explaining where the fabric came from and all the love that went into the quilts. Kathie did explain to the young volunteer that the quilts were all homemade and her face lit up; she understood! Hopefully they get to families and kids who need them! It was a wonderful experience. Next year I'd like to get the office down there to volunteer! And Kathie sent a very sweet email telling everyone the story and telling them she can't wait to attack the rest of the fabric in the new year for MORE quilts!

Here are some pictures on the quilts (on the front lawn). :)

Jax and Trav do their own stunts ;)

I got this pin for Jackie out in Tallahassee, because it was perfect for her! I guess the pin was just what Mary, the women's fabrics we used, use to call them (Quilting Ladies)! Jax seemed really happy about it which made me stoked! Pin says: Ladies Quilting Circle and Terrorist Group! You need to have a sense of humor for this ;)

So fancy! I know! I have passed them out to my family lol and that's about it! They're a supportive group thank goodness! I love seeing other people's business cards, since I'm in the biz. So here are mine! Plus I got to try out my mac photo booth. Pretty cool.

Cookies, Quilting, Photoshop, fabric oh my....

I chose a cookie to make for the Patchwork Luncheon thanks to MyPaperCrane.com! They are vegan, and that's perfect for the quilting ladies. We are doing a cookie exchange, so I only need to bake one batch. But I thought it would be nice to give everyone the recipe, so I created a little recipe card in Photoshop and printed them out at work! I like how they turned out! I'm going to add a little ribbon to them and they'll be set! Here's a peek.

This evening I will sew a new pillow idea; more hexagons! Played with Mickey. I got out my robot fabric for some Christmas gifts. Played with Mickey. Planning on making this lil elf shoes for Christmas ornaments! And then get some sleep! I also have some new ideas for greeting cards, which I will post tomorrow!

Ring Master

I finished a ring on my graveyard (grandmother's flower garden) quilt! I thought I had the exact amount I needed, but turns out I had 3 extra hexagons! Next ring will be the lil blue skeleton fabric. This project is my favorite, I just sit and sew and sew, no loud sewing machine. Now the quilt top is so big I cover up with it while I sew, so perfect! I honestly don't know when it will be completed, maybe when I can tent my house with it ;)

Here are my first Bossy Bones and Cry Baby Bones characters! This is just the first draft, but I thought I'd share!Pin It

Try, try again....

So I wasn't liking any of the ornaments, so I decided to just make something that would make me smile :) Preshie lil sugar skulls! I have a bunch of skull ideas for ornaments. Little lady skulls, pirate skulls, maybe a santa sugar skull. I was disappointed with the other ornaments, but this lil guy is great! I can't wait to make a second tonight! I used Amy Bulter fabric. Her flower fabric was a perfect fit!

Here are some ornaments a made last night. They did not come out at all like I wanted!! Oh well back to the drawing
board. I know what I did wrong with the star, so I can fix that mistake.  Now the lil chihuahua is a Danny gift for sure! I'm going to try some other chihuahua styles too! If you have any ideas please comment!

This is my newest skull fabric from etsy! It was just the leftovers, so fingers crossed I have enough for one ring of my graveyard quilt! I measured each piece, now I need to do the math to see if I have half a yard! Here is the graveyard quilt!
