What I've been up to....

Teaching my brother's very adorable friend, Lydie, how to knit! I sorta forgot how lol I had to take the yarn from her and practice a bit. Lydie got the hang of it very quickly! She was swearing at the yarn, it reminded me of the first time I learn to knit (all shaky after a tattoo on the beach with Kris) lol - awww memories!

I had a very relaxing day at the beach! I read my 4th Sookie Stackhouse book! I love them, read them if you get the chance!

Oh I flew a kite at the beach! I thought it was fun, but I wanted to do tricks - You have to buy a special kite for that - who knew? I was telling Daniel(bud/coworker) how in The Kite Runner they battled kites - I wanted to do that!

New hair cut! It's short, but I love it! It's summer time - toooo hot for long hair in FL.

I have drank (still drinking) lots of caffeine to get through the day! I stayed up so late reading my Sookie Stackhouse Series. Shani, I still blame you ;)

I have not done one crafty thing in awhile, but tonight I have some cool ideas for a few projects. Plus I have to finish a wedding quilt, graduation quilt, dad's day gift, the list goes on and on!

It's really simple. I love how every photo tells a story. Some short stories, some long tales. I want to know what is your favourite photo of yourself. Everyone has one. The photo they look at and smile. It reminds them of something, some time, some place. A moment in time.

This is my favorite photo, with my favorite lil gal, Rachel! This was taken last spring when Rachel read me a story. This was the first book Rach read, she was diagnosed with autism when she was very young, so this picture shows all the hard work she and her parents have done!

Happy Father's Day Daddy-O!

Happy Father's Day Daddy!

My mom and dad are on vacation, and it feels strange not to celebrate with them! I think this is a first! So here is my little celebration!This is my dad! I am 26 years old and I still call him daddy, I will til I'm 100.

Everyone says their dad is the best and I am no exception, but I'm 100% correct! ;)

My dad is the BEST!

My dad has a heart of gold, is extremely creative, very smart, the most patient person I've ever known (he has to be with us as his kids), he's an awesome husband (my parents have been married 28 years), always learning new things, grows a jungle in their background, great cook, photographer, understanding, very modest, easy going, very goofy, hard worker, just a completely wonderful person!
This photo is from an album my dad made my mother for her first mother's day (that fat baby is me).

The picture below cracks me up! We did this every year at Easter- why!? Danny, my brother wasn't born yet in this photo, but you better believe when he was he was up there with us!
Growing up I thought my dad was invincible! He was like a giant, but a gentle giant! Plus he is the type of dad that bought us hamsters, built us two play houses, plus a slide and swings, let me paint flowers on my bedroom wall when I was 12, bought me paints and canvas, took us to the zoo and aquarium all the time, half days at school meant Pizza Hut lunches, he hid Easter eggs every year, took all three kids camping, play in the pool with us, taught me so much about Florida, he was at every softball, basketball, volleyball game even through I was probably the worst player EVER :), I could go on and on, he's just awesome!

Happy Father's Day to all the awesome dads out there!

I think the starbucks people made my coffee wrong, it was almostly white - normally it's very brown! I need the two extra shots people!!!! I drank it anyways- duh!

The day was fun, Eli was at work! He loves mac photobooth!

It keeps him busy for hours, problem is I need my computer to do work, but he's too cute to argue! He also played with every Dunny I have at the office - we build a Dunny Land! It was a pretty awesome day! There are about a hundred of these pictures!

This is a total experiment, I have never used Sculpey before! Clay is the next medium I am going to use to make the LOVEbot ! It's tricky! I need to google if toothpicks inside the clay will burn or catch fire - I'm thinking no! Hopeful I'll have a finished product to show you tomorrow, and not a pile of ash :) If any one has any tips please please tell me!

things that make me smile

Not to sound like a weirdo, but I'm a smiler. More often than not you'll find me smiling. I've met a few people who rarely smile - frowners- I think they are the weirdos! When I talk I smile, even if some gross old customer (i work at a print co.) calls me sweetie or babe - I just smile and hope he trips or something rotten ;)

But really I try to find the good in most things!

For example: I don't get to drive over the bridge to work now, but I get to see this little guy every time I walk out our new office front door.

He's always there! He's much brighter than any lizard I've seen normally. (we have lots of lizards in FL) I'm curious if he's indigenous to Florida? I like him because he doesn't run away when I go out the door. He also has this crazy orange neck piece that he sticks out, my dad told me it was to make lizards look like flowers to bugs - this is when I was younger - I not sure if it's true - sounds true right?

The moon makes me smile! I really love it when I can see the moon during the day! My favorite bedtime book for kids is Good Night Moon! I collect it in different languages, so one day I can make a goof of myself to my kids by attempting to read the book in these different languages.And there is nothing better than a full moon that lights the night sky up like it's day time!



Everyone should read this book! I've had it since I was little and never really knew how important it was. Find it! I found a second copy in a thrift/antique store - $3! It will make you smile!

Super Duper

The hoodie was a hit! He loved it!

He looked soooo cute! He wanted to go play baseball in the hoodie lol it was 93 degrees outside! Sometimes I think kids can handle heat better than adults. My siblings and I would spend practically every summer day out in the back yard! I never remember it being too hot to play. It must have to do with being carefree :)

I learn to do a good chunk of my projects with trial and error! When I've embroidered in the past I've used tracing paper, but did a little reading -and DUH carbon paper!!!! 

It works like a charm too! It's going to make embroidering a zillion times easier! 

I'm sure to most this is very obvious, but I was just teaching myself. 

So my dad's gift will get finished quicker and neater. When I would rip the paper away, it would always pull the thread. Only one little bummer is that the carbon paper is like $6 for a 8x10 sheet. You can use them over and over so that's a plus, but $6 for paper? 

I got some dunnys and toys while at Urban with my sister this weekend! And I had given up hope for the robot one, but look what I got!! Tada! Oh and a Clutter Dunny and a chaser toy from Tara Mcpherson's Gamma  Mutant Space Friends!

So growing up in Florida I've been to Disney a zillion times! It never gets old!

Now I didn't name my dog after Mickey the mouse, I just thought it was a cute name!
