Bright Idea

Hello Gang!
Amber over at Hoot-n-Annie had a fantastic idea! We should all have a granny square swap. We need to pick a size, like 6 rows. Those who haven't made granny squares yet can learn now!! Maybe we could even swap every month for 6 months. What do you think!? I think it's an awesome idea. Plus it's a great way to get to know all the crafty gals online!

I made this for business cards/tags and over on the side there you can add it to your blog!
Have a great night and think about the granny square swap idea!

OOOOOH I wanna play too!

You should see how many people you get that are interested in your swap, then divide that up into a project (say a scarf or a pillow). That way, after the swap, everyone will have some squares to make something nifty.

Becky, here are a couple fun ideas...

For people who have different gauges and/or would like to make different size grannies:

Or if you don't want to be making a lot of squares for a swap:

I'm willing to bet I could come up with a patterns for something like this too:

Thanks so much for posting about this on your blog! I am excited. I was thinking that we make one square for each person that signs up and then have them shipped to me. I will divide them up evenly and ship them out. We did this for a ornament swap and everyone gave $5 along with the ornament to cover shipping. Then we can all make something with them and post it on flickr. I would love to see what everyone comes up with. Let me know what you think. I am going to post the details tonight.

Such a cute idea!
I think I will first have to learn how to actually make them.
