Daddy-o's Birthday!

This weekend went by too fast!
It was a fun one! My dad's birthday was great! I held off on showing you his gifts because he looks at my blog every day - because he's the BEST! Now that he has his gifts you can see them!
His first gift is from Nuevowoodcraft on etsy!
My dad plays the guitar and is a wood worker, so these hand carved wooden guitar picks were perfect!! I highly recommend this esty seller - super helpful and super quick!
For awhile now my dad has asked for a handmade shop apron. Something heavy duty to use in his workshop! I had the perfect Japanese guitar fabric which is thick canvas!
Now he has a heavy duty apron with pockets! I think he was pretty stoked!
I made a cheesecake, but...... it was strange tasting and very flat. It looked more like flan.
I'm not to sure what I did wrong! My uncle still ate some, he said it was like eating custard. I don't like custard, so......I didn't like the cheesecake! whompwhomp ;)
Any ideas on why it was so thin?
How was your weekend? Did you make anything awesome!?
Put the link to your projects in the comments!

It may just have been the recipe. If you want a really thick/tall cheesecake, look for a recipe that is New York style cheesecake. I'll look around for my hubby's cheesecake recipe and email it to you. It's a winner...and super good!

That is so cute that you made your dad an apron :) LOVE IT! I'm going to ask my sister about her cheesecake recipe, she makes mini cheesecakes (cupcake sized) and they are pretty tall/firm so I'll get back with you on that!

ooo, i love those wooden guitar picks. Is the sound quality different with the wood picks than the plastic ones?

What a bummer your cheesecake didn't turn out how you wanted. I am sure it was the recipe and not you, not everyone is a winner unfortunately!
Happy belated birthday to your Dad! I love the workshop apron you made him, the colours of the fabric are great!

Hee, hee, your Dad looks too cute in his apron! Those guitar pics are lovely, I'm going to have to check out that Etsy shop.

I'm sorry your cheesecake didn't turn out as you'd wanted. :( If I had a $1 for every time that happened to me...I love the pic of you with it, though!

I've had that problem before with cheesecake too. In my case, I didn't bake it long enough =[ but, like your uncle I ate it anyway hehe
