Doily Love

IMG_4370
I love doilies, but they are a bit impractical! Their purpose is to be pretty and mostly help keep scratches off wood surfaces -right!? But I want them to be seen! So here is my project for the weekend - doily pillow! I just used that pillow in the photo to lay them out, I have an ugly old brown pillow I'll use for the doily pillow! Any bright ideas on how to attach the doilies the best way? What are your weekend projects?

I love those doilies! cant wait to see it when its done.

I would spray the backs of them in some sewing spray adhesive, like you use to bind quilts, to hold them flat and in place, and then do teeny stiches on parts to keep them joined :)

what if you used a button in the center of each one and then just tacked the edges down-I love the doily pillow idea!

I love this project! Did you dye the doilies yourself? The colours are great! I would either hand sew them on, or even try machine sewing them on with matching coloured thread.

I love this idea...doilies are so cute! As for attaching them, I'd say hand-sewing with matching thread would work well :)

Thanks for the ideas gals - I did NOT make these doilies I got them from etsy! I LOVE etsy :)
I think I will spray adhesive them then get some rainbow thread to sew them down!
