I saw this book, Witch Craft and wanted it instantly!!! 

Plastic Land has a huge Halloween section, all pretty cute! I like this tablecloth!

But that book is the best!!! Halloween + craftiness! What more could a gal ask for!? 

It's in my amazon cart ;) I'm $14.83 from free shipping - that's how they getcha! Oh tricky Amazon!

what i wore

I don't think I've ever done a "what i wore" post, you know why? -because I mostly wear jeans and tees! I am VERY lucky I don't have to dress up for work. That would be a pain! But I felt like wearing a dress today, maybe because there's a bit of Fall in the air!

I really enjoy reading what everyone wears and where you shop!
Okay, so here goes! I purchased this dress from ModCloth on SUPER sale, it's called Picnic in Paradise! I found one similar on ModCloth here, but it's NOT on super sale! The belt is my favorite part, I thought it would be uncomfortable but it's really not! I'm also wearing a polka dot cardigan from Urban Outfitters, which was on sale too! There's a running theme of on sale items here, I normally don't buy clothes from Urban or ModCloth unless they are on sale. ;) 

These are my Salt Water Sandals, they are my most favorite shoes! They remind me of sandals I had as a kid. They come in lots of different colors, I only have the brown ones because they go with everything! They are very uncomfortable!

Also I have been working on and off this Autumn Afghan! So far it's the colors of autumn, but who knows where I'll go with it! :)

Baby Boy Toys

Gifts for a new baby boy! 

One crocheted blanket, one Goodnight Moon book (every baby should have this book ps), and one completely cute stuff giraffe toy (and a few onesies and Target gift card - boring)! I wasn't sure what to give for a babyshower gift, so I asked my Nanny. She said, "big clothes; never newborn clothes!" I feel like I'm uncharted territory, I've only been to  babyshowers as a kid, not as a grownup! Like do I get the mom a gift or just a gift for the baby? Does this sound silly? I'm just learning, one day I'll HAVE to know all this, but until then I've keep asking Nanny or Mags ;)

Isn't the giraffe the best? Sorta wanted to keep him - I didn't ;)

Harry Potter Rules!!!

If you didn't know I'm a HUGE Harry Potter fan! I've read all the books, but I haven't seen all the movies yet - one day I will! You are never too old to read these books! When you read them you'll wish every word was real - and now it kind of is at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Islands of Adventure! I got a super surprise of going to Potter World Saturday! Needless to say I was in heaven!

So awesome!! Snow covered Hogsmeade!

Wands! How awesome is that!? Tons of wands! You get to pick whose wand you want - I picked Harry's - because it's #1 duh. It was tricky choosing just one. Here is a list of spells!

Pumpkin Juice! I bought two; one for me and one for my sister! I have to send it to her or hold it hostage so she'll come home for Halloween! I have not tasted mine yet, I'll let you know how it tastes!

So did you think the Wizarding World of Harry Potter was it's own park? Because I did, but it's not. It's only a small section of Islands of Adventure, which is park of Universal Studios. Me, I'm a Disney gal all the way. Epcot is my favorite! I didn't really like Universal, well except Potter Land, but you have to pay for the whole park to see that one part. I did LOVE Potter Land! I want to go again - soon!

Zombie Pillow

Quilting day was Sunday at my Aunt Jack-o-Lantern's house! I didn't get alot of quilting completed because I was busy making a Zombie Head Pillow by special request!

It was inspired by our new Whack-a-Zombie from the Poots! Thank you Poots! You're the best! The pink top part of the head is brains overflowing and there are also brains hanging out of the Zombie's mouth there - lovely! We didn't use a pattern (obviously), we just made shapes that looked like parts of a face, and tada a Zombie Head Pillow! Please note the X's on his eyes - he's straight dead! Get it!!! That was for all you lil straight edgers ;) Not only did we full it with the white fluff filler, we also collected the extra thread and scraps from all the lovely quilting ladies! Ps extra thread and scraps = guts! Oh we also made zigzag stitches on his face with the sewing machine, and then asked ourselves, "who stitched up a zombie? Another zombie? A zombie doctor?" Any ideas? ;) Next monster pillow will be a frankenstien for sure! So how are you getting ready for Halloween!?

Button, button, button who's got the button?

I got together a few designs and tada, Kyle got them turned into buttons like that *snap*! 

Did you know specific ferris wheels and carnival rides are called Big Eli? They are! Next time you're at a fair or carnival look at the logos on the rides. The gang and I thought it was very awesome since we have a very special little one named Eli in our lives! 

I've sent out a bunch of supplies for the Strumpet's craft supply swap, which is awesome because now all those supplies will have nice home and get used! I did find something on there that caught my eye, this awesome mushroom fabric from Erica! It's so cute! Thanks so much Erica! 

Anyone else receive there swap supplies yet? Maybe we should make a Strumpet's supplies in use flickr group! The swap is ongoing so get over to Strumpet's Craft Supply Swap and get to swap'n!

Astro Afghan

I needed a name for this blanket and it was Amber's dad's jersey to the rescue! I did not come from a baseball family -not even the tiniest bit, plus I grow up in Tampa - Devil Rays - I think they are a very young team, so I didn't know what the Astros were when Amber suggested the name! :) Thank goodness for google!

Here is the Astro Afghan so far! This afghan is for Lydie! Hopefully you get it soon Lydie, it's not finished yet! :)

So when you google Astros you have to look for their older jerseys, their throwback jerseys if you will.

I love Pickers!

I'm not much of a TV gal (because there's not enough time in the day), but History Channel, Discovery, Bio, Nat Geo all get me stuck watching. Those channels are like a trap that I always get caught in! My one favorite show is Pickers with Mikey and Frank! They are awesome!! They go to people's homes and go through all their junk/treasure! They are way goofy and cute! Now I've heard (from a rotten tot) that the whole show is fake and everything is set up, but I don't care one bit! I love seeing all the cool old stuff on there. And if they are just actors they are good because they seem to really care about history and I appreciate that! Plus look - a pinball game! And there was this cool old carnival toy thing - which was awesome!

I've fallen in love with string art! Amber sent me an email about it and after that I went to town learning everything I could about it! I purchased a small kit to made one, I just wanted to see how to begin one! Flickr is filled with beautiful string art! Just look at the photos below!

Found a Florida gal making string art on etsy - so beautiful! ArtZodiac is a very awesome shop - go look! I can't wait to make one of my own! I just need some extra hours added to the day please! If anyone knows more about string art please email all you know :)

Baby Boy Blanket!

Finished up the small afghan for the fellow at the office who's having a little boy!

I used "I Love This Yarn" yarn again (because it's really the only yarn I buy), Olivia from Secretly Loves Pink told me Hobby Lobby is opening a store in New Port Richey, which is sorta near me! Thank you Olivia :) So no more ordering yarn online! Wootwoot! I Love This Yarn is so soft and perfect for a baby blanket or any blanket for that matter! Who wants an itchy blanket!?

More scalloped edges! Can't wait to meet the little fellow who's getting this blanket!

Neon Cupcakes!

The Farley Family likes to have Birthday week, so Sunday I made Neon Cupcakes for Nanny and the gang!

You can now buy neon food coloring at the grocery store! The colors are crazy!

We iced them with swirls and stars!

Then added a little more sugar, because there wasn't enough on the cupcakes ;)

And tada! Pretty crazy looking! So bright, looks more like silly putty then it does a cupcake!

As you all know (because it's all I've been blogging about) my Nanny's 80th birthday is Saturday! Well my little cousin drove down from North Carolina this week, and they aren't so little anymore! My cousin Liddy is 12 and my height; she's 5'4! Andy is 11 and just a bit shorter, but not for long I'm sure! It's so crazy to see them all grownup! I'm sure my Uncle and Aunt think the same of my siblings and me! Just so crazy how time flies! On a just as exciting and awesome note Lauren and Danny are coming home today!! Can't wait! Just so excited! :)

Birthday Supplies!

My Nanny's 80th birthday is Saturday and the Farley family is getting ready! I didn't call my Nanny for an entire week in fear I'd give the surprise away, but yesterday I missed her and had a quick question for her, and then said, "I can't wait til Lauren gets here Thursday!" - Nanny said, "Lauren!!??" oops I quickly said "meant Danny!" Yikes! Geez! I think she believed it!

(Lauren lives up in Nashville and Danny lives in Tallahassee, which in much closer to Tampa)

So over the past month I've purchased 6 Ball Mason jars (so expensive - mostly the shipping), I've collected a zillion paper doilies, purchased yellow/white string, bought 10 hula hoops, got my 1950's iPod play list ready all for my sweet Nanny's 80th birthday!

Here's the doily garland! I have a bunch of white Christmas light that will hang with the garland! I'm pre-making the garland because the day of the party it will be a pain to put together! Plus there will be so much more to do!

We are using the blue mason jars as center pieces. They will be filled with big yellow roses! I ordered about 250 roses! I can't wait to see everything put together!!

I found yellow hula hoops for the hula hoop contest!! It's all coming together! A family friend is making the food - ton of tasty cuban food! I'm just so excited!

I can't wait to see my Nanny's face!!! Hopefully my big mouth family and myself can keep it a secret til Saturday! ;) Seriously it's going to be tricky!

Weekend

It was a very busy weekend and it just flew by! I have everything, but hula hoops for my grandma's big surprise party this weekend coming up! I started a baby blanket for a fellow at work - he and his wife are having a baby boy!! He's stoked!

This weekend was filled with Mickey being crazy, an okay boat show, pinball in the smokiest bowling alley ever (I didn't know you could smoke indoors), wakeboarding, cleaning, lots of Starbucks, movie watching, and the season finale of True Blood, which was good, but the fairy stuff is cheesy on tv - not too cheesy in the books though. Did you watch? What did you think?

My siblings are coming home this week - wootwoot! And the Farley 4 are coming down from NC! I haven't seen my cousins in a year and I can't wait to see em!

Do you have EXTRA craft supplies that are just collecting dust? Or picked up a new hobby and dumped an old one, and you don't want to end up on Hoarders!? Me either! I decided we crafty ladies need a craft supply swap! I set up a Flickr group called Strumpet's Supply Swap - go join! Put photos up of your extra supplies and the first person to comment that they would love to have your extra supplies gets them! Now if you don't have a Flickr account go set one up it's free! Just keep things even, don't comment on every other photo! Once you've commented wait for someone to comment on your supplies! Remember the goal here is to get rid of supplies someone else may really enjoy!
