Pixelated Crocheting

Back in November I started this 1up mushroom! It's taking forever, but I only work on it once in awhile. The other night I decided to lay it all out after I saw the amazing Courtney's pixelated Mario! She started this not too long ago! She's a wiz! So I raced home, laid it all out, and realized I still had a bit to go!
1up Mushroom in progress
I'm pretty stoked about this blanket! This pixelated mushroom is for Brian and Eli of course and they both think it's awesome which makes me double stoked! Still have some beige and white to go and then all the connecting - whompwhomp! Oh I found the pixelated mushroom on the Pixelated Mushroom hehe! Go check out her site!

Here is Courtney's Mario so far! So So awesome!

Have you ever crocheted a pixelated something? Long ago I  started a pixelated skull and cross bones quilt, but I've never finished - I really want to but it's super tricking, so I was thinking maybe I'll crochet it instead! What do you think!

2nd weekend of Spring via my iPhone

The first weekend of Spring was awesome! The second one was just as wonderful! I started a new teeny tiny blanket for a teeny tiny person! Made some pompoms with my awesome pompom maker! Brian and I drove down south to fish and snorkel. The water was still chilly, but the sunshine sure felt nice! I LOVE our little rode trips because I don't have to drive and I can crochet! Surprisingly I don't get car sick, I think it's because I don't look down - so that helps!
What'd you do this weekend? I know it snowed in some places which is totally nuts! Start any new projects? Oh don't forget to signup for the Dexter Notepad Giveaway!

Scrabble Cake!

Tonight Rosie tweeted me this photo! It's an amazing Scrabble cake! Brian proposed to me while playing Scrabble, so I think it's only fitting we have an edible Scrabble board and tiles! It's impressive right!? Fondant is amazing to me - I've never used it though! My best bud had a "husband cake" at her wedding, I don't think that was it's official name, but that's what I dubbed it. If we have a husband cake for Brian it will be a pinball game/COD/wake&snowboarding cake haha - only kidding! I want this cake and a traditional cake, how can I have both? Engagement party? Bridal shower? Will Martha make it for me? ;)  Just searched "Scrabble Cake" on flickr - just look!
Thank you Rosie for sending me the photo!! Totally perfect! Keep the awesomeness coming!

Oh and on a totally different note - Amber and I are cooking up some ideas for a Spring Swap! See past swaps here, here, and here! So get stoked! We'll be announcing it soon!

We LOVE Angry Birds

We are Angry Birds addicts! We have it on our iPhones, the iPad, and Eli has it on the iTouch! I have the Angry Birds Seasons on my phone, every month they have an update with a new holiday! I totally understand what a waste of time playing a game on your phone is, but it's too fun to care! Even my dad has Angry Birds on his iTouch! Sometimes we text about it haha! My dad beats all the levels then goes back and gets all three stars for each level - clever one!
You know how I LOVE paper crafts - well I found Angry Birds paper crafts by Little Plastic Man!! Wootwoot! Guess who was happier about it than me - Eli! I printed out all the birds at my wonderful work! Then I put all the paper birds and pigs together and Eli built a Lincoln Log course. And Brian found the slingspot which we hide from Eli awhile ago! Good team work!
We made a video of our Angry Birds IRL here!
My crafty pal, Karla from The Itsy Bitsy Spider created crochet patterns for all the birds and pigs! They are awesome and so perfect! You can purchase the patterns in her etsy shop! Look at Olivia's lil pig! If you make them I want to see them! :) Please!
In the plush dept. look what Heidi from My Paper Crane (aka my craft hero) made for her son's birthday! AMAZING! I wish I could buy a few - because I totally would!!

SO do you LOVE Angry Birds? Which bird is your favorite? Mines the big fat red bird! Are you super nuts like us and have both Angry Birds and Angry Birds Seasons on your phone? Oh and the .99¢ Mighty Eagle?! Do you have that!?

Shamrock'n Cupcakes

 Happy St. Patrick's Day!
I love any holiday where I get to use lots of food coloring! We are currently low on green! ;)
I bought all these awesome supplies over at Bake It Pretty! They have the best cupcake holders!
My cupcakes came out a bit messy! While icing them this morning I burnt the bacon on the stove haha! I'm sure the gang at work won't care!
One fellow at work asked if I used highlighter ink to dye the cupcakes! Hehe! Nope just the awesome neon food coloring at the local grocery store! Here are my last batch of Neon Cupcakes!
Hope you're having a fun day dressed up in goofy green clothes, eating awesome green food - I know I am!

St. Patrick's Day Cards

We made some St. Patty's Day card to send to some of our out-of town family.

I started by showing Eli the tiny shamrocks made from hearts below, but he just wanted to make giant hearts which was cool with me! Postage costs more but that's ok! ;)
I just cut out a whole bunch of teeny hearts and glued them in a shamrock formation on a piece of card stock paper! We also tried stamping our thumbs in green ink, but it was really messy!
As you can see Eli hasn't gotten over snowflakes yet, just take a look at our Christmas snowflakes from this year! He decided to make a green snowflake for St. Patrick's Day - why not!?
I'm making some St. Patrick's Day cupcakes right now for the gang at work tomorrow! This happened last year during S. Patrick's Day cupcake baking! Hehe! Almost out of green food coloring! Are you doing anything special for St. Patrick's Day?

My Weekend via my iPhone

This weekend Brian and I went to our friends Jimmy & Leigh's wedding! It was so wonderful and so so sweet! The ceremony was outside under a huge tree - the weather was absolutely perfect! The reception was in an antique barn- so cute! Jimmy and Leigh were all smiles! It was a wonderful evening! A personal highlight for me was meeting my blog bud Jennifer -IRL (that's in real life ;))! I didn't know she was going to be their photographer! I've followed Jennifer's blog for awhile now because I fell in love with her photography and her sweet take on life! When I first started thinking about wedding plans, I could only think of her taking our wedding photos - seriously! I just LOVE her photos and she's a fellow crafter (photography is a craft). For example just look at Jimmy and Leigh's engagement photos here! So wonderful!
I was so stoked to meet Jennifer and her hubby/photo partner! This may sound funny (but I'll say it anyways) she's adorable on her blog, but even more adorable in person! Adorable! haha! It's so so true! :)
Here are more weekend photos above! Hanging out with fat Mickey, Eli and I saw some baby chicks at my Nanny's (she lives in the city and she just saw these out there that morning - crazy), yummy breakfasts, crocheting and Call Of Duty = Love, saw my parents, and made some Mickey cupcakes! Now what you won't see is the crazy cleaning Sunday! Geez someone caught a Spring Cleaning fever...and it was not me! Though I did help, but I'd rather be crafting ps. ;) Actually I really appreciate all the crazy cleaning! Brian did a GREAT job! The house looks great! Thank you ;)
So what'd you do this weekend? Meet any blog buds IRL? haha! Do any crazy spring cleaning?

Happy Mickey Day!

Lil Mick is 3!
I made the Mickey plushies from my spoonflower fabric thanks to Steph Dillon's amazing Mickey Illustration! Pretty cute! Next time if I make a plush I'll order thicker fabric, the quilt weight is great for quilting just not plushies! I highly recommend SpoonFlower! I've been playing around with this Zombie East Dunny for Eli and I wanna turn it into fabric, then into a plush! What do you think!?

Puppy Party!

So I told Eli that Sunday is Mickey's 3rd birthday and he asked if we could have a party! How could I say no!?!? :) So I made Mickey party supplies - my sister said I was nuts! hahaha! We are going to make cupcakes for the humans and pup treats for our four legged friends! I mostly can't wait to show all this to my mom and dad! I know their reaction will be a good eye-roll then and huge smiles!
The count down to Mick's birthday begins!!!

My Maid of Honor/SideShow Performer!

maid of honor
Elycia from Love Elycia had an amazing post about how she was going to ask her brides maids to be her brides maids and I just fell in love with her idea! I expressed this to her on her blog and then was so stocked/surprised/stoked when she emailed me asking if I'd like her to draw my brides maids! YES!!!! We are having a small-ish wedding and especially a small wedding party, mostly because it's going to be very untraditional and well that's just what we decided! ;)
So for my Maid of Honor -drum roll- Duh it was gonna be my sister Lauren! I love her SO much! She is my best friend in all the world, even when we want to kill each other! ;) I was lucky enough to see her two weekend in a row (she's now living in Boston doing her externship)! I gave her the illustration Elyica made, and I added the circus tent and a sweet note on the back! She said yes and she teared up (Lauren's a tough cookie and rarely cries)!!! Oh I was sooooo happy!!! Completely made my year! This weekend we went up to NH and picked her up in Boston and she spent the weekend with us! Thank goodness because I was not feeling well at all, and she stay with me while the family went out! We watched Sister Wives, which I found super upsetting for so many reasons 1. the guys is kinda an idiot who wasn't even a Mormon (I shouldn't go off on this tangent sorry! hahaha!)! Anyways Lauren and I had fun together eating junk food and shopping online! I love you Lauren!!!!
will you be my maid of honor
Here's the supplies I used to put together the cards! Elyica, you are the best!! Thank you thank you!!
More to come! Still have a Matron on Honor to share!

Oh and Lauren if you are wondering what your SideShow Performer duties are you can choose from fire breather, sword swallower, do you want to be a real tattooed lady this time? Pick one please! Fire breather is in our blood, Papaw would breath fire to entertain the neighborhood kids! The choice is yours! ;) Love you!

Scrabble Love

Remember back at Valentine's I said we didn't buy gifts, well I lied haha and found this Scrabble Tile Business Card Holder on etsy! It was from etsy (supporting the handmade community ;)) and it was so perfect! Check out Roberta Grove's shop - it's all so cute! But this Scrabble Tile Business Card Hold was too perfect to get to Brian! He proposed to me via Scrabble in front of my whole family! Plus we work at a printing company, so a business card holder is necessary! So stoked I found this on etsy! Brian loved it! It's on his desk as I type this! ;)
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

I really like the month of March for several reasons (in no particular order): 1. Mickey's birthday 2. My best buds birthday (she loves that she will always be 2 months younger than me - crazy ;)) 3. St. Patrick's Day - good reason to dye all your food green and pinch people 4. It's Spring SOON and Daylight Saving Time in coming!!! What are your reasons for loving March!?
